Siam Square is internationally known as a central business district area of Bangkok, Thailand and it also is a center of Thai youth culture and fashion shopping since 1964. It is the common name given to a geographic area spreading from Pathumwan area. Until the economic turmoil in 1998, a major redevelopment has been implemented including the public infrastructure such as mass transit train service or BTS Skytrain.  It enhances Siam Square to be a transit connection in Bangkok and as a result, the commercial building has become skyscraper buildings.

TRUE is a group of telecommunication established in 1990, TRUE space is located in the middle of Siam Square Soi 2, Soi 3 and also the area inside Digital Gateway including Coffee Shop and Customer Service Area

The architect uses the conceptual design to connect these three areas altogether in the symbol of ‘Node’ network connection by implementing a coffee shop to be a connection spot with other facilities in the building.

TRUE SPACE (SIAM) connects Phayathai1 Road and Discovery Center to be between Exhibition area and Café Co-working Space. It also connects technological innovation and Arts & Culture, from skywalk along Rama I Road to Ratchaprasong and Ploenchit intersections.

Connection of Public Space from footpath on Rama I road, Siam Square Soi 2 and Siam Discovery by using staircase which connect 4 floors altogether.  Three staircases are different in Forms and Shape, they connect space and unfolded different areas into different functions. It also uses clear glazing work to display the existing structural element between Siam Discovery Center and Siam Center Building.

Main idea is using a Morse Code which was commonly used since King Rama V before the invasion of analog and digital era. Therefore, this becomes a major transformation of façade work so it can disappear in the air and get the Morse Code. This will eliminate the building by using this method and create such space so we can see Morse Code quite clearly and stands out as if it goes out through the cloud effect.

We also use the ‘Crystal Clear’ reflective glass which can emit 60% to reflect any activities on footpath, neighborhood including lighting reflections at dawn or at dusk.  With this effect, Morse Code will not be visible during daytime but at night, it will change and display this Morse Code blending well with lighting reflections in Siam Square.

Façade Design of the building will be connecting through double glazing work as following :

1. Adjust two layers of glazing work to be energy-saving module by prevent the heat from outside and preserve the cool from inside.

2. Connect a pattern of business in NETWORK model technology

3. Create a historical connectivity through building functions in the past 40-50 years

4. Create an interior design function space to be a fully public space for everyone

The structural engineering design starts from time to improve and renovate the structure, by reducing the excessive load and conduct a dilapidation report to renovate and add on the alteration and additions to the existing structure by using carbon fiber. Overall structural load test, building sway test and seismic test has also been administered. The results is also suggest that structural design should be independent to balance live load test from any activities inside out or outside in throughout the time.
